About the WIC

The WIC (Werkgemeenschap voor Informatie- en Communicatietheorie) is a professional organization that aims at coordinating and stimulating the work of professionals in the field of Information and Communication Theory in the Benelux (i.e. Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) and Germany.

The WIC organizes an annual two-day technical symposium where researchers from industry and universities meet. The WIC also organizes MidWinter Meetings of a tutorial nature.


Membership is open to everyone who is or has been active in the field of information and communication theory in the Benelux. WIC membership will bring you in contact with researchers in information, communication and coding theory in the Benelux. You will receive timely invitations to meetings and symposia (co-)organized by the WIC.
Currently the WIC requires no membership fee. You can register as a member by sending an email to the secretary.
